The PLNU Soccer Player Mentor Program is in partnership with the Point Loma Nazarene University Mens Soccer Team, where players are paired one-on-one with Autism Tree children and their siblings for fun soccer activity days and pizza parties in the Spring and Fall.
It is common for families with autism to feel isolated from the San Diego community. This program is a life-line to these children and families with autism because it creates a lasting family community for them.
The Sea Lions occasionally host Autism Tree kids at their games, where the kids get to cheer on the players during the game and get to kick and pass soccer balls with the players post game. Since 2017, this program has served over 100 children and families to date!
